Purpose & Ethos

The Sardaukar Legion (SL) is an English-speaking Europe-based PvP guild with elements of light role play, technically aligned with House Harkonnen, but themed as the Imperial Sardaukar of House Corrino and de facto neutral in the War of Assassins.

Ethos

The Guild is based on values of honourable combat, individual growth, productive cooperation and support for those who could not stand up for themselves. We oppose ganking of peaceful players, cheating, exploiting and general toxicity. Befitting the Sardaukar theme, we run protection operations for spice harvesters and engage in peacekeeping activities in high-risk PvP areas to enable safe access for all peaceful players, regardless of affiliation.

Purpose

Our main purpose is to provide our members with a long term quality community to play Dune: Awakening and other games together. In addition to that, we provide our members with excellent PvP and teamwork training and equipment to help them become some of the most formidable fighters on Arrakis.

Recruitment

While the Guild is open to cooperation with all decent players, it only recruits those who meet its requirements and demonstrate sufficient maturity, discipline, tenacity and creativity to succeed in the harsh environment of Arrakis.

Requirements

  1. Be a mature, disciplined and respectful English-speaking adult;
  2. Have a working microphone that you can use while playing;
  3. Own any Sardaukar skin, obtainable by purchasing Filmic Archive DLC and/or Deluxe or Ultimate Edition of the game.
  4. Do not be part of another guild on the same server as the Guild's, or part of any rival group on any server.
  5. Complete our recruitment challenges, known as the Trials of Sardau.

Trials of Sardau

  1. The First Trial tests Sardaukar Aspirant's general gameplay skills and willingness to play the game. To succeed, you need to prepare yourself for the Second Trial entirely on your own. Either use an existing sufficiently well developed neutral or Harkonnen-aligned character, or create and develop a new one. When ready, contact Sardaukar Bator or Sardaukar Levenbrech to schedule the date and time of the Second Trial.
  2. The Second Trial tests Sardaukar Aspirant's judgement, tenacity and ability to operate under pressure. At the scheduled time, enter a designated PvP area alone and recover a specified item from it within 30 minutes. The item will be placed in a loot bag. You will be opposed by a single Sardaukar who will attempt to prevent your extraction by any means necessary. If you die or fail to escape with the item within 30 minutes, you lose your chance to join the Guild.
  3. The Third Trial tests Sardaukar Aspirant's logical reasoning and affinity for role play. Following successful escape from the Second Trial area, you will be told the region of Hagga Basin where the Guild Base is located. Travel there on your own and locate the base. Once you have entered the main hall of the Guild Base, proceed to the Shrine to the Emperor located inside, wherein you will be expected to place the recovered item in a chest and swear an oath of allegiance to the Padishah Emperor in a role play act.

Benefits

Once all trials are completed, Sardaukar Aspirant immediately receives invitation to join the Guild, with all the benefits listed below:

  • Personal Scout Ornithopter Mk6 (with access to a full set of modules);
  • Free access to the Guild Armory and its contents of T6 personal equipment and weapons;
  • Personal customizable living quarters at the Guild Base;
  • Access to the Guild's fabricators and refineries;
  • Access to the Guild's fleet of shared vehicles;
  • Access to the Guild's internal communication channels.

Structure

Ranks

All members of the Guild's community are equals. However, every member has a Rank that determines their responsibilities and thus access level and authority required for performing them.

List of Ranks:

  • Sardaukar Aspirant - applicant who wishes to join the Guild, but has not been either accepted or denied yet. Anyone could obtain this role in Channels & Roles section of the Guild's discord server.
  • Sardaukar Legionnaire (LE) - member of the Guild. Assigned to a squad to train and fight with. This rank is granted to everyone upon enlistment.
  • Sardaukar Quartermaster (QM) - member of the Guild with co-ownership permission for the Main Base and responsibility for managing all matters of equipment, resources and supplies. This rank can be granted to a Legionnaire at the discretion of the Bator. Outside of matters of logistics, it is considered equal to the previous rank.
  • Sardaukar Immenbrech (IB) - member of the Guild with the responsibility and authority to lead and train their respective squad or a single ad hoc squad. This rank can be granted at the discretion of the Bator to a member who shows leadership potential and great combat skills.
  • Sardaukar Levenbrech (LB) - officer of the Guild with the responsibility and authority to enforce the rules, maintain discipline, lead and train all squads assigned to their platoon, or up to three ad hoc squads in the field. This rank can be granted at the discretion of the Bator to a member of previous rank who consistently demonstrates good leadership and teaching skills.
  • Sardaukar Bator (BT) - leader of the Guild, owner of its Discord server, Main Base and fleet of shared vehicles.
  • Retired Sardaukar - former member of the Guild, regardless of rank, who was granted an honourable discharge. This role makes the holder eligible to access certain internal channels in the Guild's discord server and occupy guest quarters at the Main Base.

Badges

Badges are indicators of each member's individual combat proficiency, awarded at the discretion of the Bator.

List of Badges:

  • Melee Badges: Short Blades, Dual Blades, Rapiers, Swords.
  • Ranged Badges: Pistols, SMG, Scatterguns, Rifles, Drillshots.
  • Fire Support Badges: Sniper Rifles, Machine Guns, Pyrockets, Flamers, Lasguns, Missile Launchers
  • Vehicle Badges: Scout Ornithopter, Assault Ornithopter.

Organization

The guild is organized as a Sardaukar infantry company, incorporating the following elements:

  • Team - ad hoc group of 2 Sardaukar, either operating independently or as part of a deployed Squad. A Team can be led by any member.
  • Squad - a group of 3-4 Sardaukar, either operating independently or as part of a deployed Platoon. Members of every Squad are listed in the Guild Roster, though in times of need ad hoc Squads could be formed from any members available at the time. A Squad can only be led by a member with the rank of Sardaukar Immenbrech or above.
  • Platoon - a group of 2-3 Squads. Members of every Platoon are listed in the Guild Roster, though in times of need ad hoc Platoons could be formed from any members available at the time. A Platoon can only be led by a member with the rank of Sardaukar Levenbrech or above.
  • Headquarters - a group of Sardaukar focused on Guild-wide command and support functions, led directly by Sardaukar Bator.
