Lore
Lady Margot Fenring is a high-ranking Truthsayer of the Bene Gesserit and the wife of Count Hasimir Fenring, the Emperor’s most trusted confidant and Imperial Spice Minister. In the wider Imperium she is known as a woman of exceptional observation, lethal precision, and unwavering loyalty to the Sisterhood’s long-term breeding plans. In Dune: Awakening’s divergent timeline, those same qualities place her on Arrakis as an active hunter rather than a quiet observer.
Players encounter her in Harko Village. She immediately recognizes the Prisoner and confronts them with cold authority, demanding to know why they are interfering in her affairs. When pressed about other Bene Gesserit apostates (such as Jocasta Cleo), she feigns ignorance while making it clear that few renegades escape her notice. She eventually reveals her true target: the renegade Tessia Vernius, who was smuggled onto Arrakis inside a shipping container hidden in the hold of an Ixian freighter. An earlier attempt to seize Tessia failed when the freighter Hephaestus was shot down.
Margot’s presence on Arrakis underscores the Bene Gesserit’s ongoing interest in the planet even during the War of Assassins. While her husband oversees spice production and Imperial politics, she operates in the shadows, pursuing those who have broken from the Sisterhood.
