Like many of the ships across the Imperium, the Actaeon bears a name drawn from Greek mythology. Actaeon was a famed hunter who stumbled upon Artemis bathing in the woods and offended the goddess. Stories vary about what caused the offense. Some claim he boasted he was a better archer. Others, that just his presence was enough. The goddess splashed him with water and turned Actaeon into a stag with his human mind intact. He was then torn apart by his fifty hunting dogs who no longer recognized him.
