Purpose / Ethos
House Ordos is about community, maturity and freedom to play however you want and whichever pace suits you. We enforce a 25+ age restriction and value down-to-earth mentality in our members. Both the clan and the community is about having fun with the experience of the game. If you want to rush to the endgame we're probably not for you.

Guild Lore
The spice must flow. And so it has for as long as we recall. For millenea, like now, the rights to the spice melange was being fought over 2 factions: The Beastly Harkonnen and the Honourable Atreides. Countless generations have lived or died under the weight of their never-ending conflict, with no say in their own destiny. That is, until destiny intervened on its own behalf. The exact origins are lost to time and secrecy, but what we DO know is that it all started on the icy world of Draconis IV. Exhausted by a conflict not of their own making the minor houses came together to form an alltogether stronger entity: House Ordos. One such house was House Wallach, whose ancient coat of arms would later be synonymous with the Ordos crest.
By combining their might the houses had crafted for themselves a way to compete militarily with the two factions but still lacked the imperial pedigree and representation. It was understood early on that the Imperial house of Corrino would not want to endorse such a thread, and that House Ordos' war would have to one in shadows. And as such it developed a lethal tradition for insurgency, deception and the use of illegal technologies.
By frequent association with Ix - by then an outer world frowned upon after the Butlerian Jihad for their manufacture of thinking machines - House Ordos would excel in the use of illegal technologies. Eventually gain the ability to create Gholas - clones from the cells of the deceased. It was rumoured that they planned to make a ghola of then-deceased Emperor Corrino to assume control of the Empire.
Through the Tleilaxu, House Ordos would learn how to infuse their machine technology with living biomass, essentially creating living computers, making the Ordos mentats the most powerful in existence. One such mentat, Edric O, was even rumoured to have attained sentience - a rumour House Ordos was quick to dismiss.
After the first spice war House Ordos was condemned for their 'abominable' use of forbidden technology and hunted to near extinction. Though it is likely that the collected Emperium simply saw them as too much of a thread to their balance of power. With what remained of house Ordos driven into hiding it reserved itself to watch centuries of propaganda destroy what remained of its dream: A collective a systems free from the oppression from unproved betters. A way for those at the bottom to live a life outside of political thraldom.
History is written by those in power, as thousands of years of unchanged political conflict is confirming to this very day. But whispers on the wind have started to be heard. Rumours grow of the resurgence of an old name forgotten by time. No one knows who said it first or what it even means but its there for those who care to listen. "Ordos", it speaks.. But is it a cry for freedom or a call to enslave?

Some of our members are interested in approaching DUNE:Awakening from an RP angle, and we're trying to accomodate this. We're building a dedicated RP server, with lore-crafting and player interaction. If you are interested in joining this you're welcome to do so as a community member, even if you're in another clan.

House Ordos is for those of us that have been left behind by the unforgiving ex-wife of youth. We have stuff to do outside of the game. Kids to pick up, dinners to cook and lawns to mow.
At the end of the day we like to sit down and moan over our aching joints, and enjoy a good old relaxing game with likeminded Dune enthusiasts. Maybe you're into the lore and want to experience it at your own pace. Maybe you just want to explore the desert with a bunch of laid back moms and dad who just 'get it', without having some teenager screaming how "amped about his drip" he is. Whatever that means.
Look, we get it. We were young once as well. But all we want now is some peace and quiet. So sit down and relax. Maybe pour yourself a glass of that whiskey you've been saving and let's enjoy this game together. Even if you already have a clan we're more than happy to have you around as a 'friendly'.
